In 2023, Kim Astrup achieved remarkable results alongside his partner Anders Skaarup Rasmussen. They won the gold medal in men's doubles at the European Games 2023 after an exciting final against the British pair Ben Lane and Sean Vendy.

At the BWF World Championships 2023, the duo upgraded their previous bronze to a silver medal after losing the final in a close match against the rising Korean pair Kang Min-hyuk and Seo Seung-jae.

Additionally, Astrup and Rasmussen made history by becoming the fourth men's doubles pair ever to win BWF World Tour titles at four different levels – 1000, 750, 500, and 300. They secured their first Super 750 title at the French Open 2023, which also marked their fifth title in 2023.
