Which racket should I choose?
The confidence in a - at that time - 6-year-old, skinny, and awkward Anders Antonsen with big feet was not particularly high from his then-coach at Aarhus AB. But even though the awkwardness and the clumsily large feet sometimes caused problems for the young Anders Antonsen, his natural flair for shuttlecocks, combined with such a rare ability to read the game, were clear strengths for the young Dane.
Since then, the coach's apprehensions have been proven wrong, as Anders Antonsen closely follows Viktor Axelsen in the race to conquer the top of the badminton world rankings. The first time Anders appeared on the big stage was back in 2013 when he participated in the Forza Denmark International Tournament. Two years later, in 2015, he won the European Junior Championship, where the final saw him clinching victory after 3 sets against German Max Weißkirchen.
Anders Antonsen has since competed for the biggest titles, and if it weren't for his compatriot Viktor Axelsen, the talented Antonsen would have even more titles on his resume, as the two top players have stood on opposite sides of the net numerous times in the battle for titles.
As of now, Anders is ranked number 3 on the official world ranking for men's singles players, surpassed only by the mighty Kento Momota in 2nd place and Viktor Axelsen in 1st place.
