Which grip should I choose for my badminton racket?
Once you have invested in a new badminton racket, the racket will be delivered with a starting grip and you’ll be ready to go on and use your new racket.
However, people are very different but consider what type of grip they prefer to play with.
With this guide, I want to help you find out which grip is best for you!At the Badminton-shop we have a wide selection of different grips from various brands – See them all right here:
There are different types of grips for your badminton racket!
The grip is incredibly important to have a good feeling when you have the racket in your hand. That is why there are also many different types of grips – Below I review the different types of grips you can put on your racket.
Soft grip
Soft grips, also known as replacement grips, are grips that are slightly thicker than the super grip reviewed below. The soft grip has the same thickness as the starter grip on your racket.
It is called a replacement grip, as you remove the existing grip from the racket and put the new replacement grip on
Super grip
Super grip is a thin grip, which is also called overgrip. You use a super grip by placing it on the outside of the starter grip. This is done to get a little extra thickness on the grip, so you can get exactly the thickness of the grip you want.
In today’s badminton, it is seen that more and more people exclusively use a super grip, where they have previously taken the grip off. With this option, you get a thin layer on the grip.
Frotté grip
The frotté grip or “towel grip”, is the most used badminton grip by badminton players and on the international stage. The frotté grip is available in many different colors on our webshop, and can be purchased in larger rolls.
For all our customers who invest in frotté grips, we always recommend them to buy Yonex Grip Powder. Grip powder is a mixture of talc / resin, which is used in order to be able to hold better in the racket and thus give an increased feeling to the game!
If you sweat a lot in your hand, the frotté grip is definitely for you!
